SUMMER SWANSON

About Me
Summer Grace Swanson is a multidisciplinary, African American, artist whose work is driven by the profound impact of art and its ability to evoke emotions, share narratives, and inspire change. Her passion for art blossomed at an early age—before she even learned to write her own name, she spent countless hours finger painting and sketching crayon family portraits. Growing up, art became a vital mode of expression for Summer, a way to explore and communicate her inner world. After graduating from Al Raha International School in Abu Dhabi, Summer pursued a higher education at Parsons Paris, The New School, in France where she continues to refine her craft. Today, her work is shaped by both academic research and a personal exploration of her African American heritage, often addressing pressing global issues through her art. Guided by her studies and experiences at Parsons Paris, Summer continues her artistic journey, driven by a passion for creativity and discovery.
